So you are thinking about blogging but are unsure about going for it?

I’ve been there, trust me!  But after years of trial and error with blogging, it has developed into a super creative hobby, a source of confidence, and a second income.  If your on the fence about trying it for yourself, I have to ask you, what do you have to lose?  You can set your own hours – so, spend as much or as little time on it as you please, and you may just get satisfaction from your results.  Here’s to trying out new things!  I want to share with you all my seven reasons on why you should start a blog, even if you have no writing experience at all.

Want some exposure?

If you are looking to say, expand your personal business, build a brand for yourself or of yourself, or perhaps want to broaden job opportunities for a skill you want to promote, then blogging is a great start in getting your name out there in the world.

  1. You can gain new clients from almost anywhere
  2. You can show off your skills to future employers or customers, and have a place to provide their testimonials

You have the opportunity to MAKE MONEY.

If cash is your incentive to starting a blog, it is a good one.  Now, you may not make money overnight, but with a lot of hard work, time and effort, many people have successfully made money blogging, even making it their full time job.  The key to doing this is actually enjoying what you are doing online.  Just imagine that, being your own boss and having fun in the process.  If you would like receipts, below are just a few bloggers that I personally follow that have made blogging their success story.

Improve & Practice your Writing and Computer Skills

Perhaps you want to brush up on typing, or writing for whatever reason. You may want to share short stories or have a place to post poems or news articles. Blogging is a cheap way to do it, and if you do it right, you may just gain followers and readers for free.

Use Your Blog as Another Communication Tool

Your readers, future clients, employers, family and friends would be able to reach out to you via your website, if you want that as an option. Have all of your social media easily accessible for people to reach out to you 24 hours a day. Contact pages & chat boxes can reach you by your email address to alert you to new messages. Also, you can post new information regarding your company or blog for people who have signed up to your subscription service or newsletters, so that they are never out of the loop. Never miss an opportunity when you use your blog as another form of communication.

Help Others With Solutions

You can help others while blogging by posting helpful information for people who are searching solutions for their problems on the internet. How to fix a computer setting, how to program a phone, how to do cornrows, and how to pass level 2150 on candy crush are just a few examples of ways where you can help people online. What is your niche? Give helpful tips and how to’s about your topic that will help your readers and perhaps keep them coming back to your website for more information.

It can be a Fun Hobby!

This is pretty self explanatory. If you like writing, enjoy working on a computer, or have fun posting things on social media- then most likely you will find it entertaining to start and keep up a blog. And, when you make blogging a hobby, then it won’t be hard to work at it until you achieve the personal goals you set for yourself in regards to it.

Gain Business Associates/Clients/Friends

Word of mouth (or of shared links) can go a long way. You may gain new clients by people seeing your work from a Facebook or Twitter link that led them to your website. Perhaps someone saw your outfit post on Pinterest which linked them to your blog. Or, maybe someone googled for nail techs in their area and found your website. They saw and liked your work and decided to reach out to you. The opportunities are endless.

Have you started a blog? Why did you start writing online and what was is your blog about? I would love to read from you and feel free to leave your blog link below for me to check out!
